Coriander Chicken Curry

I was looking for an easy chicken curry recipe and that was when I stumbled upon this. This has a unique flavor and is a perfect combination with steamed rice and pickle :).

What's in it:

  • Chicken : 1/2 kg
  • Onion : 2 large
  • Salt : to taste


I. To Grind to a paste :

  • Fennel seeds : 1 tsp
  • Ginger Garlic paste : 3 tsp
  • Green chillies : 2-3
  • Coriander Powder : 2 tsp
  • Garam masala : 1 tsp
  • Chicken masala : 1 tsp


II. To Grind to a paste :

  • Coriander leaves : 1/2 cup loosely packed
  • Tomato : 1 large





Let's do it !

  1. Heat oil in a non stick kadai and add sliced onions , saute.
  2. Grind the (I) ingredients to a fine paste. Add this to the onions.
  3. Saute till they are cooked.
  4. Grind (II) ingredients with some water and add this to the kadai.
  5. Add some more water and salt at this stage.
  6. Now add the cleaned chicken pieces, give a stir and close the kadai with a lid. Let it get cooked well.
  7. Check in between whether the chicken is cooked; add more water if needed.
  8. Once the gravy reaches a semi-thick consistency, switch off the flame.
  9. The gravy tends to thicken as it sits. So adjust water level accordingly.
  10. Serve hot with plain rice.
