Zebra Cake
This is the third cake I baked. I always wanted to bake this ever since I saw this lovely cake here. It was as awesome as it looks ! And easy to the core !
What's in it:
- All purpose flour : 2 cups
- Baking powder : 3 tsps
- Cocoa Powder < I used Hersheys> : 2 tbsps
- Vanilla essence : 1 tsp
- Eggs : 4 nos.
- Sugar : 1 cup
- Milk : 1 cup
- Vegetable oil : 1 cup
Let's do it !
- In a large bowl, cream eggs and sugar.
- Add oil, vanilla essence and milk to it and blend well.
- To this add pre-sifted AP flour and baking powder and beat well till everything is blended finely.
- Pour half of the batter into another bowl and add cocoa powder to it. Mix well till no streaks are there.
- Preheat the oven to 356 F /180 C. Grease a 9" round pan.
- Pour 3 tbsp of vanilla batter at first using a spoon in the middle of the pan.
- Do not disturb the pan. Slowly add 3 tbsps of choco batter in the middle of the vanilla batter.
- Alternate vanilla and choco batter, keep pouring in the centre till the batters exhaust.
- Be careful not to disturb the pan during the process.
- The batter spreads by itself slowly to form the zebra pattern.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes or till a toothpick comes out clean.
- Invert and cool the cake fully.
- Cut into pieces and enjoy the awesome zebra cake !
